We are looking to recruit the following positions:

The Communications Products Group (CPG) is a world leader in Digital Processors and other Payload Equipment for Telecommunication Satellites, with work being undertaken for a range of national and international customers. The responsibility of the group covers research and development of new digital processor products and RF products, manufacture and test of flight electronic equipment and in-orbit operational support. It is an exciting time to join CPG, as new products are being developed to meet the needs of tomorrow's digitally-processed satellite payloads.

1. Digital Test Engineer– (Stevenage)

A Graduate opportunity is available within the Digital Test team at CPG, Airbus Defence and Space, Stevenage. This team is responsible for the design of unit tests to verify and validate the operation and performance of the various digital products we design and build, and relies heavily on software development to optimise the process of testing the equipment in a robust and repeatable manner.

2. Electrical and Electronic Engineer– (Portsmouth)

This role sits within the Secure Communications group of Airbus Defence and Space. We provide resilient, reliable and secure communication to National Infrastructure and to the Military. The specific department is a growing multidisciplinary team of 20 engineers responsible for research design, development, delivers and supports state-of-the-art Satellite. To reflect this breadth, the group's remit is equally wide-ranging enabling the successful candidate to become proficient in many technical and non-technical areas that are the bedrock of a successful career.

3. Electronics Engineer – (Stevenage)

A Graduate opportunity is available within the Digital Hardware Development team at Airbus Defence and Space, Stevenage. This team is responsible for the electronic hardware of the Digital Processor equipment, including designing the complex PCBs. These incorporate digital designs (FPGA / ASIC) implementing DSP algorithms, along with high speed analogue interfaces and power regulation circuits.

Tasks & accountabilities

·  Working within engineering teams to design, build and implement solutions to the problems faced in the CPG team, demonstrating good planning and communication skills to ensure that schedules and cost budgets are maintained
·  Understanding and managing complex technical tasks, working with design requirements in order to produce world-leading products and systems
·  Generate progress reports that show how each task is evolving, and demonstrate your ability to communicate this to a range of technical and non-technical colleagues/customers
·  Be involved in, and eventually lead, engineering tasks such as system design, software architecture and software development/debug
·  Produce detailed technical documents to accompany the engineering designs, suitable for delivery to the end customer of the product/system

This role will involve some travel to European Airbus D&S sites and international suppliers. As such you must be able to travel accordingly.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

·  At minimum, a 2:1 degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Electronic Engineering or related subject.
·  Experience of applying practical engineering skills for technical problem solving (e.g. laboratory projects involving complex digital electronics)
·  Excellent communication, presentation and team working skills
·  A proactive approach and good problem solving skills

Experience in the following would be advantageous;

·  Experience of software design, ideally applying to real-world applications (e.g. automation/control of test and measurement instruments or embedded software applications)
·  Experience of digital design (circuit design, VHDL, FPGA) and/or analogue design (eg. Transistor circuits) through course modules or work experience.
