Job Description

2 nd Line Support Engineer

Role Description:

A new role is available due to the expansion of the Product Support Team within Airbus Cyber Security at our site in Newport, South Wales and involves working within the UK Defence industry, requiring the applicant to be able to be security cleared to a UK DV level. (Minimum requirement SC)

It is a role where each day will be different, responding to different customer queries and issues on multiple products and where required, investigating and reproducing the reported problems.

You will cover multiple cryptographic products and be required to work closely with other departments such as the Sales, Marketing, Production, and Development teams. Training will be provided to the right candidate.

Your main tasks will include:

·  Supporting Airbus Cyber Security’s cryptographic products protecting critically sensitive National and Commercial information
·  Assist in the management of Incidents through the process lifecycle
·  Triaging faults and reproducing in an SRM 
·  Occasional visits to customer sites to carry out tasks such as investigating issues and installing upgrades
·  As part of Product maintenance, assisting with the testing and verification of newly developed software releases

Looking For:

·  Airbus are looking for an entry-level/graduate engineer
·  A keen and enthusiastic individual who is eager to learn, flexible and able to react to issues 
·  Good problem solving skills
·  Strong communication skills both verbal and written
·  Able to adapt to changing priorities

Required Qualifications/Skills:

·  IT related degree
·  Basic Networking knowledge

Desirable but not essential:

·  Programming knowledge
·  Cryptography/Security

Others:

·  Willing to be ‘On-Call’
·  Driving License
