PLACEMENT OFFICER
BROMLEY
MONDAY- FRIDAY 9AM- 5PM
3 MONTH ASSIGNMENT
£15.26 HOURLY RATE
ASAP START
Duties:
· To receive referrals and assessments from care managers and social workers for clients requiring placements
· To make recommendations to the social worker and/or funding panel on the most appropriate and best value options
· To ensure, where required, that notifications of service changes are made to the Finance department
· To commission packages of support for children and their families to prevent unnecessary receptions of younng into care
· To negotiate the cost of all placements and support packages
· To commission a range of assessments (medical, parenting, risk, fostering and psychological) as required and identified by the care plan at the request and approval of the Head of Service.
· To undertake inspection and evaluation visits to providers for both individual clients and for general database records
· To undertake investigation of complaints and concerns as raised by the team, social workers or managers regarding external providers
· To assist the Leaving Care team to identify suitable and appropriate accommodation for younng people to move on to when they reach the age of 18 years
· To liaise with social workers and other professionals and agencies regarding assessments of care needs
The ideal candidate will have:
· Knowledge of the range of services that is available to children, families and adults
· Experience of working in a Social care setting
· Experience of negotiating agreements or contracts
· An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
· Good administrative skills including word-processing, note taking and filing
