We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our client in NG7 on a 12 month assignment. This role offers 36.25hrs per week to be worked over 5 out of 7 days.

The purpose of the role is to manage the planned and reactive maintenance of key mechanical building engineering services. Particularly in relation to asset compliance such as legionella control, pressure systems and gas services. To manage condition surveys and development of prioritised asset replacement plans and to manage small to medium asset replacement projects.

Responsibilities:

·  To be the technical lead for key mechanical building services

·  To advise and develop statutory and risk based maintenance regimes for those services

·  To advise and help prepare maintenance standards, procedures and specifications

·  To prepare tender documentation and evaluate tender returns against these standards and specifications

·  Advise and undertake the selection and the appointment of competent service providers

·  To plan, implement and manage all aspects of delegated mechanical maintenance and statutory compliance

·  To select and manage key service providers

·  To monitor supplier competencies, ensuring they continue to meet both the skills and safety needs of the particular services required

·  Meeting with suppliers to discuss problems found during maintenance works and agree solutions to resolve

·  Some attendance to out of hours emergencies as required

Skills and Experience Required:

·  HNC/HND in Mechanical Services Engineering with some relevant experience in a similar role

·  Full driving license

·  Ability to set programmes and work to deadlines

·  Ability to manage projects

·  Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

·  Substancial experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical services

·  Understanding of relevant health and safety legislation that relates to the role
