Based in Central London

Adecco are currently recruiting for a Library and Learning Services Assistant for a prestigious university based in Central London. The Library Assistant is required to deliver high quality library services to students and staff. As an LLS Assistant, you will be responsible for the general and routine duties in the Library, and for providing administrative support to the LLS department. You will deliver a high level of customer service by supporting students and staff in making the best use of library resources, taking ownership of customer enquiries and driving them to resolution. Under the supervision and guidance of the LLS Manager, you will also contribute to the strategic development of Library and Learning Services and undertake project work.

Duties:

·  Answer and resolve queries from students, staff and other Library users relating to learning resources, IT provision, and general enquiries, making referrals as appropriate. Where enquiries have been escalated to colleagues, continue to drive the response to ensure that the query is resolved fully and in a timely manner.

·  Deliver general and specialist Library inductions and workshops for students and staff.

·  Perform a range of administrative and counter duties supporting Library operations, the LLS Manager and the Academic Writing Service. Supervise the Library, manage the behaviour of students and take responsibility for the health and safety of customers in the Library.

·  Gather data and information to monitor customer satisfaction. Continually review this information to proactively seek ways of improving the service and generate reports to inform planning and development.

·  Help and encourage students to use the Library and promote Library services by communicating effectively across a range of channels.

·  Provide tailored support to students requiring more extended assistance with information literacy, computer literacy and assistive technology, through 'drop-ins' or bookable appointments.

·  Support the acquisitions process by reviewing reading lists and current stock and facilitating procurement and financial processes.

·  Take personal responsibility for an area of the LLS service, e.g. disability support, Talis Aspire reading list co-ordination, etc.
