Finance Coordinator

My client is an established, reputable industry leader seeking a Finance Coordinator to join their Finance Department based in their fantastic Newcastle City Centre offices. This role is to provide financial and administrative support within the Finance Department. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience and play an active part in ensuring the system of financial control is maintained to the highest standards within the Accounts Payable team.

This role will require an individual able to champion change with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practice is smoothly implemented. An experienced finance professional able to lead, plan and allocate the transactional team tasks supporting the recording and payment of supplier purchases, approval and payment of employee expenses and bank reconciliations for their diverse range of products and services. Responsibilities will also include the preparation and analysis of a range of reports to support the wider Finance function and business.

The role also requires line management responsibility of Finance Assistants.

Key Responsibilities

·  Provide leadership, support and mentoring for direct report within the team to deliver a comprehensive service that is legally compliant to the

·  To manage and develop direct reports including 121 meetings, reviews and career development plans.

·  To play a key role in the financial control of the Company by applying relevant accounting skills and discretion.

·  Maintain accurate and timely accounting records using a range of computer systems to ensure that the relevant records are maintained, complying with regulatory bodies such as

·  To be a key finance contact and source of advice and guidance to other members of the finance team as well as others across the business, including daily contact providing support to internal teams, to promote a high standard of a supplier

·  To be aware of and assist in the maintenance and development of internal financial

·  To play an active role in the general development of the finance function systems and procedures and to always seek continuous improvement of systems and

·  To effectively measure how the team is achieving objectives, including timely payment of supplier and employee

·  To play an active role and to support other members of the finance team in processing and recording daily financial transactions, including ensuring all transactions are timely and accurate.

Technical/Job Skills, Qualifications and Experience

·  Previous demonstrated supervisory experience within a finance department preferably within a customer focused organisation.

·  Expert user knowledge of Accounts Payable systems.

·  Competent PC application skills, particularly MSOffice applications including

·  Preferably will be AAT

·  Discreet and confidential approach to financial matters and management matters
