Our client within public sector is looking for a 18 th edition qualified Electrician to join their Facilities Management Building services department and will be working around Richmond and Wandsworth Councils' buildings/properties. The role is offered on a 3 months contract basis (may go longer) paying £22.51/hour (via umbrella / role is inside IR35) working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Job Purpose

The mobile Electrician will support the FM Building Services function in the delivery of compliant Electrical building services to all properties in Wandsworth and Richmond Council's estate. The work of the FM Building Services Team will involve peripatetic working at buildings located across both boroughs. The work may also involve lone working when visiting buildings that are unoccupied. The work requires a reactive and pragmatic approach which may result in the need for working at height, working in confined spaces, or manual handling. Tools will be provided by the client.

The Mobile Electrician will report into the Electrical Lead and must be willing to participate within an out of normal working hours emergency call out rota and be flexible outside of core working hours (after completion of 3 months).The role maybe required to work as part of a shift-rota.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide specialist Electrical support to the Facilities Management Building Services function which includes:

·  Electrical testing, and/or repairs and replacements to:

·  Lighting internal and external, street and path lighting

·  Power including 3 Phase

·  Switchgear and associated equipment

·  Heating and ventilation systems

·  Addressable Fire Alarm Systems

·  Emergency lighting systems

·  Intruder alarm systems

·  Automatic door gear and door access systems

·  Motor Control Gear including Inverter Drives

·  Inverters

·  Plant controllers e.g. pressurisation units, compressors

·  Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

·  Industrial and domestic boilers.

·  Industrial and domestic hobs, ovens and cookers

·  Minor works installations

·  Setting up electrical supplies for events

Required Qualifications:

·  City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent

·  18th Edition Institute of Electrical Engineers (I.E.E) Registration

·  High Voltage and Low Voltage AP experience

Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

·  Planned and Reactive Electrical maintenance in a pressurised, customer centric environment.

·  Thorough knowledge of electrical installations in commercial local authority buildings will be beneficial.

·  Able to work independently as part of a shift / duty engineer rota

·  Flexible to work on call or out of core office hours when needed.

·  Receipting and updating tasks via PDA and working with CAFM systems

·  Working with integrated contractors and supply chain partners

·  Extensive knowledge of properties/buildings and electrical assets within them.

·  Health and safety and Safe Systems of Working

·  Customer focused Communication skills - verbal and written

·  IT skills

·  Good organisational skills. Able to identify pragmatic solutions to operational problems

·  Ability to organise and prioritise own workload and meet tight deadlines.
