Adecco are recruiting on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary for a Disclosures Officer to join their team on a 12 month basis initially.

The purpose of the post is to carry out all necessary checks and processes in order to provide relevant and accurate information to third party agencies such as the courts, probation services and councils.

Duties of the post include:

·  Create and maintain an electronic file of all requests using the designated system; ensuring all relevant documentation is cross referenced and scanned in as appropriate

·  Assess each contact to confirm it is a valid request for the disclosure of information in accordance with agreed protocols and legislation

·  Use all appropriate information sources to research, extract and collate relevant data: Including electronic and physical records held remotely, or within the Force off-site storage facility

·  Edit all information for disclosure in compliance with the law on confidentiality and data protection, applying exception principles where appropriate

·  Using own knowledge and experience, act on instances where there are legal implications of disclosing information

You would be responsible for all activities including the receipt and recording of requests and assessment of their validity; through to the research and retrieval of information, and the eventual disclosure of information in accordance with agreed protocols.

Successful applicants should be able to demonstrated the following skills:
- Working to a high level of accuracy
- Ability to follow complex processes
- Able to handle and interpret a large amount of data
- Able to work to own initiative, use own judgement and work independently
- Problem solving skills
- Confident IT user
- Ability to compile information and produce reports on findings

Knowledge of the Courts and Criminal Justice System is highly desirable for this post.

Working hours are Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week within standard office hours.

Role is based at Cheshire Constabulary's Headquarters in Winsford. On-site parking is available, and facilities include a canteen and gym.

The successful applicant will be required to successfully pass an in-depth background check before commencing role.
