JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Enterprise Web Application Support Engineer is an individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in internal customer support.

  • Responsible for providing support to users of personal computers, servers or mainframe applications.
  • Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects.
  • Adapts precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Applying well-developed knowledge of IT methods.
  • Knowledge and skill would typically be acquired from years of involvement in a range of challenging IT environments.
  • Activities include identifying, prioritising, researching and resolving reported problems, using a help desk system and/or problem management software, and recommending systems modifications to reduce user problems.
  • Communicate with users to help understand and resolve their problems.
  • Follow established procedures or develop innovative new solutions to user problems.
  • Prioritise and schedule own activities so that work is completed on time.
  • Use problem management databases or other help desk software.
  • At this level, the incumbent would be expected to be capable of instructing other IT staff and advising on more complex issues.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Customer Support:
    • Provide technical support to customers, including but not limited to answering customers' emails, phone calls and online questions
    • Able to solve issues in a timely manner, ensuring limited downtime for the customer
    • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization and the ability to communicate technical information in a manner in which business leaders can understand
    • Handle and resolve customer complaints
    • Research required information using available resources
    • Must be a strong team player with a personal commitment toward the business and its customers
    • Maintain knowledge base: Write articles detailing Issues and solutions in the Support Knowledge Base
    • Maintain R&D Technical Bulletin

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • C#, .NET Framework, ADO.NET, Visual Studio
  • JavaScript
  • SQL Server/Oracle
  • Ability to debug issues related to windows application from application hangs to memory leaks using tools like DebugDiag, WinDbg to analyze/debug memory dumps

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IT Background: knowledge of Operating System, Event Viewer, IIS Configuration, NLB, etc.
  • Excellent customer facing expertise - excellent customer service skills are a must
  • Experience with working in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, agile environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot software problems - identify and solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Ability to learn and understand our processes, as well as recommend ways to continuously improve
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Up-to-date with latest trends, techniques, and technologies
