JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

Applies engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems associated verifying an implantable medical device. Exercises technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing, coordinating and/or directing engineering work.  Performs engineering studies, documentation, test automation and analysis.  Remains abreast of and consults on technical advancements.  Identifies and routinely uses the most effective and cost-efficient practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs troubleshooting and fault isolation activities on a variety of multi-chip module-controlled battery-powered products.
  • Provides supporting services and tooling at the direction of management and senior engineers.
  • Conducts evaluations, tests and analyses related to feasibility and function.
  • Conducts measurements specified in design verification plans, documents and tabulates results, and provides engineering test reports.
  • Documents tools with specifications and schematics to support document control and tool release.
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other radio regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.  Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Exhibits quality and pride in their work and relentlessly pushes for excellence in themselves and others.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelors Degree (± 16 years)

Electrical/electronic engineering or related engineering field.

Or

an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience/Background

Relevant educational program or work experience in performing the evaluation of electronic circuits, fixtures and tools.

A minimum of six months of relevant work experience:

  • Broad technical knowledge; expertise in one or more relevant specialties.
  • Comfortable working with benchtop electronics analysis tools (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, etc).
  • Experience with scripting tools, such as Python.
  • Experience with ISM band radios, WiFi, Bluetooth Low Energy communication and various protocols.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
