Tasks:
Your focus shall be the automation of distributed generation integrated in traditional power systems as well as in Microgrids.
You shall be involved in the complete tools chain, starting from power system modeling, ending at the implementation and testing of the concept on the automation platform. As R&D Engineer - Power System Automation, your tasks will be: design, implementation, validation and testing of power system relevant control strategies. You will support complete R&D project life cycle, from design to testing, including customer pilot and site support, Power System modeling across different commercial modeling and simulation environments (Matlab Simulink, DIgSILENT, PLECS, PSSS/E).
Implementation of the logics on ABB automation platforms (controllers and PLC) using platform specific languages (C, C++, IEC 61131, etc.).
Being part of a Global R&D team, you shall interact with R&D teams and Operational units worldwide.

Requirements:

To cover this role, you have a Master degree, preferred in Electrical Engineering, with focus on Power System domain and a minimum three years of experience in the area of digital control applied to Power Systems. You have experience in automation platforms (SCADA, DCS and PLC; IEC 61131 languages). A PhD in the area of Distributed Generation and Microgrid is preferred.
You are proficient in the use of Power System and Control System modeling and simulation tools (Matlab Simulink, DIgSILENT, PLECS, etc.). Eager to work in the modelling area.
Eager to apply simulated and validated concepts on real automation platform.
You are familiar with Power Electronics and control of PE devices connected to the grid, Solid presentation skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken, High awareness for quality, process and tool in related area, Self-motivated, independent, organized and structured way of working.
